Founded by Edith, a graduate of the San Francisco Baking Institute, the bakery is rooted in traditional baking and a warm neighborhood café culture.

Cookies produced in the Venetian monasteries since the 8th century A.D. They were brought to France by Catherine de’Medici’s Italian pastry chefs after moving with them to France in 1533 when she married Henry II of France. The cookie is made of egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, ground almond, and food coloring. They are usually filled with buttercream, ganache or jam.
